This hallmark, the Manchester Art Gallery, is an elegant building designed by Sir Charles Barry. Recently renovated, the Gallery space has been doubled to exhibit one of Britain’s finest art collections. Many famous artists’ works can be seen here. A particularly fine collection of Turner’s watercolours are displayed as well as works by Old Dutch masters and pre-Raphaelite artists. An enormous collection of Decorative Artwork includes furniture, glassware, porcelain, silver and metalwork.
