Moscow Sights, Sounds and Hotels

During the middle of the 16th century the English House in Moscow was given by Ivan the Terrible to English representatives of the Muscovy Company in a diplomatic move, which he hoped would gain the hand of the ‘Virgin Queen’, Elizabeth I. In a fit of pique when she showed no interest in his plan, he confined her her ambassador to English House for four months. The restored house gives an insight to the life of the imprisoned Englishman in Moscow four hundred years earlier.

There is a substantial variety of fine Moscow hotels for you to choose from when you plan your visit to Old Moscow which is where you will find the English House, and absorb much of Moscow's history.
